# 16 Wikis

Wikipedia a wonderful resource for quick answers to questions, especially useful for kids projects. It really clear and easy to read.

Wikis- another thing that our Libraries need to think about using. Using Wikis means collaboration is possible but also it means content may need to be filtered and sometime may be unclear. Another thing that needs to be taken into consideration when working with other departments.

Wikis with book lists, favourite anything such as book lists, reads are all great ideas to introduce into your Wikis.

# 15 On Library 2.0 and Web 2.0

Web 2.0 certainly is becoming a new digital lifestyle - the simplicity of usage/availability will continue to rocket its success.

Access to digital everything and Google means Libraries have no choice but to adapt and adopt new technologies and make this second nature.

Financial considerations do limit Libraries abilties to progress but as we already know teenager's are technologically savey and they are Libraries 2.0 future virtual users. Libraries need to move quickly and forget about lengthy discussion or they'll miss the boat.

# 14 Technorati

I found blog posts mentioning Learing 2.0 and looking at the usage of interest.

Popular blogs - Here, I would like to question -What makes a blog post popular? Is it simply the fact that it is listed and everybody going into Technorati just goes into these blogs to browse and then makes them popular. eg Boing boing

Searches - Talk about information overload and How much time do you have to look at all those blogs?

Tags - Another interesting feature where sensationalized or mainstream media influence.

# 11 LibraryThing, just the thing.

I had a customer awhile ago who had the urge to catalogue their collection. This invention would have gone a long way in helping them. If your totally obsessed, cataloguing all the books you own would make it so much easier to search your bookshelf. I particularly like the cover view.

# 7 Blog about technology -

Do you remember watching Beyond 2000 and now it's called Beyond Tomorrow. Now that says it all. Well isn't all this technology amazing and something that is continuously morphing.

Wouldn't we all love to afford all the gadgets out there, from iPods to light pens and phones that just do about everything these days.

#2 Life Long Learning
Habit 1 – Begin with the end in mind
Habit 2 – Accept responsibility for your own learning
Habit 3 – View problems as challenges
Habit 4 – Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner
Habit 5 – Create your own learning toolbox
Habit 6 – Use technology to your advantage
Habit 7 – Teach and mentor others
Habit 7 ½ – PLAY!Have fun! It's never too late to become a lifelong learner.

Habit 7 1/2 easiest habit and a great philosophy for all. Habit 3 is really a mind set that needs to be continually adopted no matter what is going on. This makes it one of the hardest habits to develop.
